Tides Tavern Joins Anthony\u2019s Family of Restaurants<\/h2>

We\u2019re\u00a0thrilled to share some exciting news:\u00a0Tides Tavern is joining our family! For decades, Tides Tavern has been more than a waterfront tavern. \u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a place where friends gather and guests feel at home.\u00a0Tides\u00a0has\u00a0always been a place that brings people together, reflecting the same spirit we celebrate at every Anthony\u2019s restaurant.\u00a0Welcoming Tides into our family was a natural fit, built on shared values and a love for bringing people together across the Northwest.<\/p>

\u201cTides Tavern is a treasured part of the Gig Harbor community, and we\u2019re honored to be entrusted with its next chapter,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Amy Burns, President and CEO of Anthony\u2019s Restaurants.\u00a0\u201cMy father, Budd Gould, and my brothers, Herb and JJ Gould, share\u00a0a deep\u00a0respect for what the Stanley family has built. As fate would have it, my father started Anthony\u2019s 53 years ago as well, committed to upholding the same care, warmth, and Northwest hospitality that have made the Tides such an important gathering place for generations.\u201d<\/p>

The Stanley family has created something truly special, and as they step into retirement,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0proud to carry forward their legacy.                 A Rich Waterfront History<\/strong><\/h2>

                Tides Tavern\u2019s story goes all the way back\u00a0to\u00a01910,\u00a0when Axel\u00a0Uddenberg\u00a0built the West Side Mercantile near Gig Harbor\u2019s \u201cPeoples\u2019 Dock,\u201d the town\u2019s first general store by the public ferry landing.\u00a0Fast forward to the late \u201960s and early \u201970s, the space was owned by \u201cThree Fingered Jack\u201d Miller\u2014a Jerry Garcia doppelg\u00e4nger with a booming tenor voice and a flair for the dramatic. His eccentric personality and songs became local\u00a0legend.<\/p>

                In 1973,\u00a0Peter Stanley\u00a0purchased\u00a0the building\u00a0and, after renovations, opened the doors to\u00a0Tides\u00a0Tavern. From day one, it was more than a tavern. It became a gathering place full of laughter, cheer, house-made food, and carefully crafted beverages.<\/p>

                Today, Tides Tavern continues to be\u00a0an\u00a0anchor of the community,\u00a0where new friendships are made, old ones are celebrated, and memories are created that last a lifetime.<\/p>
